Security Procedures and TSA at Eppley Airfield
Passengers should be aware that only those with tickets are allowed to go through the security checkpoints. All electronic devices (including laptops, cell phones, computers, etc.) must be placed in a separate screening bin for x-ray checking at the security screening checkpoints. Per passenger is allowed to have one bag and additional one personal item (such as a purse, laptop bag, briefcase, etc.). Concerning the medical assistance items like wheelchairs, crutches, etc. are discharged from this requirement.
During the TSA Security Screening, be aware of removing all metal-made materials along with electronic devices. For instance, jewelry, watches, belts, coins, cell phones, earphones, etc. Meanwhile, passengers go through the screening magnetometers.
Prohibited Items at OMA Security checkpoint
Particular objects are not allowed to be carried in carry-on baggage. Prohibited items are metal scissors, knives, straight razors, toy weapons, multi-tools, box cutters, pepper spray, etc. These types of things are removed by TSA personnel. Besides, OMA Security Policy reminds all the air travelers not to leave any bag without attention. Unattended baggage or carry-on bags will be removed.
Identification Requirements / Real ID
From the beginning of October 1, 2020, a new policy must have legal documents that will come into work. According to the new system, air passengers will need to present a Real ID-compliant, a driver's license, or other legal I.D. and permit cards to be allowed to enter federal facilities in the United States.
Security Checkpoints and Departure Time
Eppley Airfield is open for 24-hours, seven days a week. Passengers should be aware that the ticket counter and retail hours of operation are subject to change. The TSA generally opens each checkpoint at the airport at 4:00 a.m. Security checkpoints remain open until midnight, every day.
The check-in procedures usually start 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. However, due to a rush-hour for early morning flights, which generally is from 5 – 7 a.m., passengers are recommended to plan to be at the Eppley Airfield 90 minutes before the scheduled time for domestic flights, and 3 hours before the international flights.
